Great news for the field of robotics! The University of Málaga has awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor and researcher Aníbal Ollero from the University of Seville, who is also the Scientific Director of CATEC. This well-deserved recognition honors his extraordinary career and his contributions to science and technology, particularly as a leading figure in autonomous aerial systems.

A Professor of Systems Engineering and Automation at the School of Engineering (ESIC) at the University of Seville, where he leads the GRVC group of more than 70 members, Ollero is the world’s most published researcher in the fields of unmanned aerial vehicles and aerial robotics.

His group at the University of Seville is a leader in aerial robotics. He has participated in more than 190 research and development projects, including 45 funded by the European Commission, as well as others supported by NASA, various national research programs (80), and regional initiatives. His vision, dedication, and leadership continue to be a source of inspiration for young engineers and a professional example to follow.
