The Rector of the University of Jaén, Nicolás Ruiz, met at the end of November with the general director of the Advanced Center for Space Technologies (CATEC), Joaquín Rodríguez, the director of Avionics and Systems, Antidio Viguria, and the head of the Flight Test and New Prototypes Unit of ATLAS, Macarena Márquez, with whom he discussed possible actions for joint collaboration in research and innovation between both parties.
This first meeting, which was also attended by the vice-rector of Research and Knowledge Transfer of the UJA, Mª Victoria López-Ramón, has focused on the possibility of jointly promoting technologies oriented to the fundamental pillars on which the CETEDEX project is based, whose works have already begun; Specifically, around the development of aerospace technologies, oriented to unmanned autonomous vehicles, as well as technologies oriented to anti-drone systems and the possibility of analyzing and experimenting these developments in the ATLAS facilities in Villacarrillo.
Nicolás Ruiz has described this meeting as “very fruitful” and has announced that in the coming months a work plan will be addressed that will allow, from 2025, the implementation of some “strategic” projects, both for the CATEC center and for the UJA, “in the context of CETEDEX and other areas related to aerospace technology”.
From ATLAS we are grateful for the disposition shown!
