Our ATLAS Alpha centre hosts the final demonstration of the GAVILANSO project

This initiative, part of the MISIONES 2024 Programme, has enabled the development of key technologies for the integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles in urban environments. CATEC has played a prominent role in this initiative, being responsible for the development of autonomous task management algorithms in multi-UAV systems, among other things.

ATLAS and CATEC lead the operation of Europe’s first stratospheric flight of a high-altitude and long-range pseudo-satellite

The project has received €30,000 in funding and will enable UAS operators to conduct their flight campaigns at our facilities without having to obtain prior authorisation from the Aviation Safety Agency.

ATLAS hosts the first sounding rocket launch in Jaén by Faraday Rocketry UPV

The ATLAS Flight Center has been the setting for a historic milestone in Spanish university rocketry: the first launch of a sounding rocket in the province of Jaén. The Faraday Rocketry UPV team, made up of 46 students from the Universitat Politècnica de València, successfully validated their rocket ‘Rompetechos’, which was entirely designed and built by the team.
